1.Side bending and twisting

Reasons for side bending and twisting:the problem is the uneven metal flow speed.The main reason is unreasonable bearing design,wrong hole distribution and size cause uneven metal supply.Obviously hole 3,4 size is unequal,even hole 1,2 is equal,but hole 2 is far away to the centre compared to hole 1.As a result,metal flow from 4 holes has different friction,then flow speed at different side thickness is uneven,side bending and twisting is the phenomenon.

2.Outward expansion

Reasons for Outward expansion:after many times works or other problem,the bearing at tongue are with sunken prolem,this influence the metal flow,outside flow is faster than inside,then four side will move outward.If only one/two/three sides is outword,the reason may be die assembly wrong.

Correction methods:if the thickness turns thinner,file the sunken on the same level to reduce friction,or give block on mandrel bearing;if the thickness should be kept then the tongue cannot be filed,the die should be replaced.If only some side ourward,we can give block on the bearing of the side accordingly.

3.Inward depression

 

Reasons for inward depression:mostly the problem is weak rigidity of the die,when extruding, will lead to die elastic deformation,the bearing on tongue will turn short,metal flow will increase,then four side will be inward depression.If only one/two/three sides is outword,the reason may be die assembly wrong.

Correction methods:put pad with reasonable thickness.remove the parts of die cap and mandrel of same thickness,keep same die total thickness.If some side depression,give block on the bearing of tongue accordingly or reduce bearing accordingly.
